 An apparent time shift of 16 years in Roman history around the time of the ministry of Christ Jesus is shown in the book Jesus was 61
[http://christjesussonofgod.blogspot.com/2010/05/jesus-was-61.html]. The death of Augustus, dated after a total solar eclipse by the early
Roman historian and consul Cassius Dio in his series of books on Roman History, is shown to occur 16 years after what modern historians have
dated the death of Augustus to be on August 19, 14 CE. Planetarium software was used to date the total solar eclipse that occurred
spanning the Roman Empire from Spain to Egypt on November 24, 29 CE. Which means that the death of Augustus was on August 19, 30 CE, after
the total solar eclipse. With this 16 year shift identified, the first Roman Census that occurred during the days of Augustus is shown to be
12 BCE, the year Christ Jesus was born.

A "total" solar eclipse within the Roman Empire is a rare event, unlike lunar eclipses, which are much more frequent. This one in
particular spanned the Roman Empire from Spain to Egypt, from 11:15 UTC until 13:00 UTC. It was also a broad total solar eclipse, with a
total eclipse of the Sun reaching as far as plus or minus one degree in latitude from its center.

I stumbled upon your website while researching legends regarding Mary Magdalene. I have been writing a book about her, and want to include as much information as possible without contradicting any known facts. it was a little eerie to read some things on this site because through my research i had come to certain conclusions which i was certain would be controversial because they were not what i had been taught was the accepted truth. yet, reading this site, i found that legend holds some of the same points of view. it took me by surprise, yet exhilarated me at the same time. The only version I have seen is the one by Hugh McGregor Ross, "Jesus, Untouched by the Church."

I read your article of Mary of Magdala with absolute incredulity. Do you all park your brains at the Church door? Do you not know who Mary was and are you not aware that Jesus' ministry would never have occurred if Mary and several of her wealthy female friends did not fund virtually the entire ministry. She was never a prostitute or a harlot and not one word in Scripture says she was. The unfortunate mistranslation of Luke that mentions Mary juxtaposed to ahd harlot at the well is the seed of this foolishness. After the Council of Nicea and the Roman Empire's usurpation of Christianity to serve the purposes of the State, most of the error filled myths that make up modern Fundamentalism were born. Early Christians, the one's closest to the Master and his times, knew nothing of a "Virgin Birth" or of Jesus being the literal Son of God, neither did Paul whose first writings were in 53 CE more than 20 years after the dealth of Jesus. Since he was the very first known contributor to what we call the New Testament, we know that not ONE of the Gospel writers had ever seen or heard Jesus in Life. Saying that these hearsay and wildly contradictory accounts are the inerrant world of God is more that ridiculous, it is a malicious falsehood perpetrated for over 1700 years.
There is much wisdom and spiritual truth in what we call The Bible, but factual accounts or history, not at all. Imagine the harm you do by perpetuating the Pagan Myth of the Virgin Birth. Do you not see that you trivialise the greatest teacher ever sent by God to man? If he was a demi-god (half God, half man) then every one of his "miracles" are reduced to the ridiculous. Of course a God could do these things! The real lesson of Jesus is that he was 100% human, born of man and woman with all of our human nature and failings and yet HE transcended his humanity and developed the Christ Mind which is the consciousness of being consciously unified with the Father and thus able to do what only God's were thought capable of doing. He taught us that yes, we are all gods in the sense that we can use the Word as Jesus did and God does, to create our lives in the same way that God creates the Universe and all that is in it. We do it on a micro scale and God on a Cosmic scale but both are done with the Word and the Law. Using the Law of God and His Word, we can even defeat death itself, that is the lesson. You make Jesus (whose name was never Jesus Christ, Christ is a title meaning the annointed one) but rather Yeshua Ben Joseph or Yeshua Bar Nazareth, whichever you prefer. You mean well but your perpetuation of lies which began with Constantine and carried and transmitted by the thoroughly corrupt Catholic Church does not serve you or mankind.

The physical descriptions of Jesus are very impressive. I looked this up in order to answer other people's comments regarding the Shroud of Turin, who said that Jesus was a black person. I always thought Mary M. was either an angel or a prophet sent by god, but to have learned that she was black, gives more insight

as to why she was discredited through history. I have never been taught eleswhere that she was black. The cover up in history made me cry.
